Hello!
Further to my last letter in December, I am so pleased to let you know that the Parish Council has found enough volunteers to be able to organise a warm space. The first session was held last Friday, and the warm space will be running every Friday throughout February. Sessions are at the Copt Hall between 11am and 2pm. We are offering soup and a roll and hot drinks. There is Wi-Fi available, and it is open to anyone who wants to attend. Thank you so much to Cllr John Hunt and all the other volunteers who have facilitated this.
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us for the NDP Visioning Event on the 14th January, especially given the awful weather. It was an incredible turnout, with over 200 people attending to share their views. I would also like to thank everyone who helped on the day as well as all the wonderful bakers who provided us with such delicious cakes.
It was an absolute pleasure (as well as incredibly interesting) to have the opportunity to talk to so many of you about your thoughts on our village and its future. I am certain that our Evidence Working Group will have been very busy analysing so many scorecards. I will be really interested to see the results at the next Steering Group meeting in February.
The views gathered through this consultation will be used by the Steering Group to identify key priorities for the new NDP. This is just the first step in revising our NDP, and we intend to maintain the dialogue with residents throughout the entire process. Keep an eye out for updates on the NDP website and Facebook page.
With best wishes for a happy and healthy 2023,
Clare Escombe
Chairman, Hawkhurst Parish Council
